Spiders And Centipedes Share Venom

Spider venom insecticide
Spider venom could be used as insecticide
Despite being separated around 500 million years ago it appears spiders and centipedes have evolved a similar venom.

It's said typically venoms have evolved from proteins that once served another purpose. But the creatures in this study had venom from an insulinlike hormone.

It's hoped study of these venoms could lead to greener insecticides, fight chronic pain and cancer.
