How To Make A Match Rocket

How to make a match rocket.

5, 4, 3, 2, 1 - MATCH ROCKETS ARE GO! Making your own match stick rocket is incredibly easy - so let’s go.

As the name suggests you're going to need a match stick, this will power our rocket and it’s long body will help keep it stable.

For the rocket body itself, we’re going to need to cut some Aluminium foil. I cut a piece the same length of the match on its long side and three quarters the matches length on the shorter side.

Now we need to straighten out a paper clip like this.

Then place your paper clip next to the match on the foil as you can see. Roll up your paper clip and match tightly in the foil, then twist the end to seal making a cone.

Carefully remove the paper clip by sliding it out.

Next to launch our rocket we’re going to make a simple launch pad. For that we bend a paper clip like this - simple.

Now our rocket and launch pad are ready, it’s time for lift off. I’d advise using a lighter with a long neck to avoid getting your fingers burnt.

Remember if you try this yourself to take all necessary safety precautions and everything will be F.A.B.
