3000 Subs + Channel Update

3000 Subs + Channel Update

Hi everyone its Paul from Go Repairs. You might have noticed that our YouTube channel has over 3000 subscribers. So I just wanted to say thank you for all your support. This channel is only the size it is because of you guys showing your love.

Every time one of you watches a video, leaves it a like and shares it with your friends you help boost our little corner of the internet. I know some of our earlier subscribers do this already - that's why we have gotten this far.

If you're new to the channel then firstly, you've missed some great videos (I'll link to them at the bottom of this post), but secondly you can help us in the same way.

I know everybody is busy these days but it only takes a few seconds to leave me a comment, a like or share the video and it makes the world of difference to me.

It shows me you appreciate the effort I put into these videos or the free articles that accompany them.

Quick Channel and Site Update.

I love making these videos and the articles that accompany them for you. But I've lacked focus, letting real life issues get in the way and not conveying what we’re up to with you guys.

For example the first big break in recording was caused by my camera being faulty, so I sent it away for repair. When I received it back I expected it to be repaired - but it was still faulty and had to go back again.

More recently my dog, who's image I've used on occasion, became seriously ill and had to be rushed to the vet so I've lost a lot of time taking care of her.

While none of these things are avoidable, I just wanted you to know that I've not been slacking. I have a list of projects I'd like to do and I'm adding to it all the time.

I want to start taking the YouTube channel and this site more seriously so things are going to have to change.

That means more consistent uploads and just better communication with you all in general. So if you want to stay updated with what we are up to then connect with us in one of the many ways you can.

The site we use for our articles and sharing other interesting projects will be updated more often and I’ll be using it more as a written blog, so you can see where we’re are up to on certain projects or videos that we’re working on.

I'm also looking to spend more time on social media, not something I'm really used to doing, but I’ll use it so I can better connect with everyone.

You may or may not have noticed that we've started a Patreon campaign and the reason for that like origami is two fold.

Firstly it’s a way I can find out who our supportive fans are, connect with them better and reward them for their kindness.

Secondly it helps me remove a lot of obstacles.

Now whether your aware of it or not, making these free videos and articles costs quite a bit of money and time to make. The cost I try to offset by running Google ads on the videos and site. But this is a really ineffective way to raise money, as Google pay really poorly and some people choose to block the ads.

I can’t really blame some people for blocking ads if they would like to show support in another way, that’s why this Patreon campaign is perfect for you guys who would like to tip a bit of money and avoid watching ads.

The great thing about this campaign is that with only a tiny amount of help from you guys it can have a massive impact at my end.

It means I don’t have to have a million subs before I can do bigger videos and get better equipment.

If all 3000 subscribers pledged just a single dollar a month, I could do this as my full time job tomorrow and focus on bringing you the content you want.

I don’t expect all 3000 of you to pledge, but if you can then it would mean the world to me.

It will be interesting to see who is first to get the ball rolling on this, I'll probably post the names (unless they don't want me to) of the first couple of people who become Patrons - who knows shout outs to Patrons might be a regular thing on the site or videos.

Help Me To Help You

I can't stress this last point enough - YOU shape the future of this channel and site. Don't just be a faceless voyeur, become part of our community and share your voice.

Now I want to wrap things up by saying thank to everyone again and turn it over to you in the comments. I want you to talk to me whether you've left a comment before or not.

If you can’t leave comments on YouTube, then leave me a comment on my site or social media.

For those of you who can leave me a comment then do! Tell me what you want to see in future videos or what you want to see on the site in future.

If you have any tips you want to share on how we can make the videos or our site better then tell me. Or if you have any tips on how we could attract more people who are interested in our work then tell me that too.

If you have any ideas on what you like to see as a reward on the Patreon campaign then tell me that as well?

If you have no suggestions or help you can share then just say hi, tell me where you’re from and when you started watching my videos - I'd really like to hear from you.

Thanks,
Paul
