When the AA batteries in your remote have gone dead, don’t worry about buying new if you have some AAA’s. Despite being smaller than AA batteries these AAA batteries are rated the same.
Just bridge the gap with some Aluminium foil and your remote will be working again.
The same trick will work for other items powered by AA batteries like this game controller. Just remember to leave a gap between the two terminals so they don’t short out.
You might find yourself needing this AAA battery life hack at Christmas time.
Before I go, I've heard it said that dropping batteries are a good way to tell if they are charged or not and after testing this with different batteries on different surfaces, at varying heights, I can tell you it doesn't work.
